Zealong Hosts Vietnam’s Prime Minister and First Lady

Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc ended his two-day visit to New Zealand with a stop at Zealong Tea Estate en route to Auckland International Airport this week.

Prime Minister Phúc joined his wife, Madame Thu, who had enjoyed a private High Tea overlooking the country’s only commercial tea estate.

Following the High Tea, Zealong General Manager Gigi Crawford had the opportunity to present both the Prime Minister and his wife with tea grown and hand-picked from the Waikato estate.

“We are delighted and honoured that the Vietnam Prime Minister and First Lady could visit Zealong during their time in New Zealand,” she said.

“We hope they will enjoy the uniquely New Zealand-grown tea when they are back home in Vietnam, and think fondly of their time here.”

Prime Minister Phúc and Madame Thu join a growing list of world leaders who have had the opportunity to sample the award-winning New Zealand tea; including then-New Zealand Prime Minister Sir John Key, Germany’s President Steinmeier, China’s President Xu, and the UK’s Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
