Father’s Day is just around the corner (next Sunday, September 3rd) and we have some great gift ideas for Dad! See our picks below.
The newest addition to the Zealong Tea Estate is proving extremely popular with a number of recent groups taking advantage of the premium offerings.
This, of course, is The Vista, our brand new visitor centre and functions facility, and one of Hamilton and Waikato’s newest venues.
Set at the entrance to Zealong Tea Estate, The Vista will boost our commitment to the development of New Zealand as a country that exports unique, sustainable products to the world.
Most recently we hosted the Employers and Manufacturers Association’s (EMA) Business After 5 event. Waikato members were given an after-work showing of The Vista’s expansive setting, a presentation on Zealong’s rich Kiwi history as producers of the world’s purest tea, accompanied by drinks and canapés.
We also helped make Hamilton Christian School’s banquet dinner for 140 a roaring success. During this private function, the students got into the volunteering spirit and tried their hand at waiting tables. It was fantastic to see!
“Creativity is thinking up new things. Innovation is doing new things” – Theodore Levitt.
These are words that couldn’t ring truer at Zealong, with months of hard work coming to fruition recently in the shape of New Zealand’s first homegrown tea bag. Most importantly, this is the first time a domestically-grown tea, from the tea plant Camellia sinensis, has been available in a bag.
Containing only hand-picked, organic leaves, this new range of pyramid-shaped tea bags enables you to experience all the goodness of our premium loose leaf tea while on the go – perfect for modern living.
These tea bags are produced using natural and health-conscious materials, giving you peace of mind knowing they are better for you and the environment.
Now on retail shelves, these tea bags are available in Green, Oolong and Black flavours and can be re-infused multiple times.
Well, we certainly gave Britain’s illustrious tea market a run for its money after our recent visit to the Natural & Organic Products Europe expo in London.
Our award-winning teas were such a success that we were named a finalist in the ‘Best New Drink Product’ category, alongside some of Europe’s biggest natural and organic brands.
The accolade reinforces the lengths we go to in ensuring we produce the purest tea the world has to offer. Here at Zealong, our tea is organically-certified, fully-traceable, New Zealand-grown and complies with the highest standards in the world.
And with the rise of an organic lifestyle people are increasingly taking pride in what they are putting in their bodies and, in turn, see Zealong as the very best.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Europe showing that Zealong is a sip above the rest.

In exciting news, we have just been announced a finalist in the Air New Zealand Cargo ExportNZ Awards 2016 in the ‘Emerging Exporter of the Year’ category.
We are thrilled to make the shortlist of these prestigious awards, especially given the calibre of entries this year.
Each year, more than two thirds of Zealong’s annual product is exported, mostly to China, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Our five premium varieties – Green, Pure, Aromatic, Dark, and Black – all grown and picked directly from the 48-hectare estate, are enjoyed by Zealong fans around the world.
The Air New Zealand Cargo ExportNZ Awards 2016 will be held on June 23 so keep any eye out for publicity on New Zealand’s only commercial tea plantation in the lead up to the event.
While we pride ourselves on growing the world’s purest tea, our range of quality visitor experiences – telling the tasteful Zealong story – are equally important.
Ranging from one-hour, to half a day or more, tourists and visitors alike are immersing themselves in the plantation and the world-class tourism facility on a daily basis.
Facets of the Zealong Tea Estate that will be on show at this year’s TRENZ expo – New Zealand’s biggest annual international tourism event.
Held in Rotorua, the expo sees the nation’s leading providers of visitor accommodation, transport, activities and attractions showcase their products to international travel and tourism buyers from New Zealand’s major and emerging visitor markets.
Zealong is proud to take part and if you are attending, make sure you pop in and say hi – we’re looking forward to seeing you at stand number 1194.
Do you fancy hosting a wedding, specialty high tea or corporate gathering in a unique venue amid rural Waikato?
For an ever-increasing number of visitors this is a reality, thanks to our world-class facilities – facilities we proudly displayed to New Zealand and Australian buyers during our maiden appearance at last month’s Convene Expo.
The annual expo showcases function, meeting and event facilities in the North Island to Trans-Tasman organisers of conferences, meetings and incentives.
At Zealong, we can cater for a range of events at our existing facilities: a purpose-built pavilion for weddings, special events and corporate gatherings, and the restaurant, which serves creatively crafted morning/afternoon teas and lunches.
Also keep an eye out for the completion of our new visitor centre and function facility, The Vista, to be opened this year – this will be very exciting!
